They both quote TechRadar and Amazon reviews. There are absolutely NO gaming benchmarks that I've seen in CPU comparisons. Again test setups or anything of the sort are completely left out. The only other benchmarks they seem to be running are Cinebench and Geekbench. On the CPU side of things, again PassMark seems to feature heavily in comparisons. It's only 3 games as well! Compare it to the Guru3D GTX 760 review which tests 9 different games, as well as 5 FCAT tests.

No. I'm sorry guys, but have we not come to distrust a fully synthetic benchmark that rates the GTX 680 higher than the GTX 690 yet?Īpart from the synthetic benchmark they use the two cards are "compared" in 3 real world games (Crysis: Warhead, Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3). HD 7950 comparison as an example, they use the PassMark score as one of the methods of comparing the two video-cards. There is absolutely no mention of the test setups used for ANY of these "benchmarks" Is it just me or does no one else find the results posted on GPU/CPUBoss questionable at best: the 1MB of the 3570K or that the GTX 760 has a 180Mhz faster core clock than the HD 7950? People want to know which CPU/GPU performs better in the real world plain and simple.
Yes it's good for comparing CPU/GPU "specs", but what on earth is the point of that? Who cares if the FX 8350 has 8MB of L2 Cache vs. What happened to using trusted and reliable benchmark sites? Some of us now seem to be basing all our recommendations off a single "number" automatically generated by a very questionable site.

They use different benchmarks for almost every comparison. For what it's worth, CPU Boss and GPU Boss sometimes use Passmark.Īlso they do not consistantly use the same benchamrks for all their comparisons so this leads me to worry that they may be fudging their results by selectively displaying only the results they want to convey. When comparing CPUs they pretty much covers everything, there are also GPUboss and SSDboss.Īnd yeah I do enjoy a good debate, but dont think I do it just to contradict you. Gaming wise, 3Dmark is the benchmark to use, I'm not saying that passmark is a bad benchmark, but simply measuring raw power wont give you an idea on how it will perform in games, by the logic of that bench, those Xeons would blow everything out of water but then again they get beaten by far cheaper cpus, simply for having less more optimized cores. It maybe was a bug, after the refresh it scored 7.9. What in your opinion is a good benchmarking suite? Or do you just enjoy debating me?
