Led by Olga Bubnova as Chief Editor, review articles published in Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering will provide specialists and other non-expert readers with an in-depth understanding of the sub-field, technology or application and clearly illustrate the existing gaps and challenges providing various realistic scenarios for future developments.Ĭommenting on the new launches, Deborah Sweet, VP Nature Journals, said: “All three of these journals will aim to champion and support global progress by ensuring researchers are able to bring their most significant discoveries and analysis to the widest possible audience. Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering joins a a portfolio of more than 20 journals dedicated to publishing review and commentary articles in the clinical, life, physical, social and earth sciences The journal has an ambitious goal of connecting the specialists in the field of electrical engineering by publishing the highest quality and impact engineering research perspectives and analysis as well as being an inclusive and interdisciplinary platform for scientific exchange between researchers, engineers and industry. Led by Tom Dursch as Chief Editor, this new journal will publish classic chemical and environmental engineering but also cover areas closely related to the broader industrial use of chemicals and the challenges this poses, particularly from an engineering and sustainability perspective. Nature Chemical Engineering will complement Nature Portfolio's existing applied sciences journals, publishing cutting-edge research in applied chemistry and physics that speaks to a broad scientific community of chemical engineers, chemists, physicists, environmentalists, and material scientists. This new journal joins Nature Portfolio’s other titles Nature Energy, Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Sustainability, Nature Food, and newly launched Nature Water, in continuing Springer Nature’s commitment to the SDGs and to connecting researchers who are tackling the world’s toughest challenges with the practitioners who can benefit from their insight and analysis. “What is lost in viewing cities and their myriad processes with one lens, one vantagepoint, or one place? As our Earth urbanizes and as our recognition of the central place of cities for so many issues grows, we need a journal that considers cities and urbanization broadly, that invites thinkers from across the globe and across disciplines into a common conversation,” notes Chief Editor Bill Burnside. Featuring contributions from the sciences to engineering to the humanities, Nature Cities will grapple with, among other issues, the ongoing challenges and opportunities cities and urbanization have for people, infrastructure, public health, and the broader environment–from local to global scales and through time. Nature Cities, a thematic title relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), will cover research, opinion, and ideas relevant to understanding cities broadly and their place in our changing world. Publisher Springer Nature is adding to its SDGs and engineering portfolios by launching Nature Cities, Nature Chemical Engineering, and Nature Reviews Electrical Engineering. Nature Portfolio will welcome three new Nature journals in January 2024.
